Alexa joined STEPS in 2019 after graduating from the
University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She was born
and raised in Minnesota where she found her passion for psychology and interest
in working with individuals in the community with disabilities and children
with special needs.
She has experience working as a nanny for a child with a developmental and speech delay and as a volunteer at Fraser, a non-profit that provides care for children and adults with autism. She also has a lot of experience in the field of mental health. She recently finished an internship in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit at Seattle Children’s Hospital and is currently volunteering alongside the occupational therapists in Harborview Medical Center’s inpatient psychiatry unit.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, volunteering, exploring Seattle’s many coffee shops, and rewatching her favorite sit-coms.
