Geraldine joined the STEPS team in 2018! She grew up in Vancouver, Washington before attending the University of Washington, where she is currently pursuing her degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences.
Before joining STEPS, Geraldine gained experience through working in preschools as a child care aide and assistant teacher. She also volunteered at the Hearing Speech & Deaf Center as a teacher’s assistant, and Dunlap Elementary School as a tutor and mentor. At the University of Washington, she is involved with Cure International, a club that fundraises money for surgeries in developing countries and Social Diversity for Children Foundation, a non-profit organization that hosts music therapy programs for children of all abilities to bridge gap between children with and without disabilities. She was also an intern at JUMP Camp, an all-inclusive science slime camp for children with and without disabilities, aiming to decrease challenging behavior while fostering appropriate social skills.
Geraldine plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology in the future, and would love to continue working with children. In her own time, she likes exploring Seattle, spending time with friends, traveling and eating food!
