
Jennie Trujillo

Jennie graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Washington in 2006. While at University of Washington she enjoyed studying abroad in London, England. Jennie was also a classroom tutor at Quileute Tribal School in La Push, Washington through the UW Pipeline Program. Jennie enjoyed working with students and went on to pursue her teaching degree.
Jennie received her Master’s degree in Special Education—Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities Program from the University of Washington in 2010. Throughout the program Jennie worked as a para-educator at Overlake Specialty School in Bellevue, Washington and with the Highline School District. After graduating, Jennie went on to teach 3rd and 4th grade resource room classroom in Bellevue then taught language arts and social skills at a middle school in Renton. In 2011 Jennie completed the Washington Educator Skills Test in Elementary Education to obtain Highly Qualified Status. She returned to the Highline School District in 2013 and worked with preschool-aged students for the next 7 years. In spring 2019 Jennie obtained her National Board Certified Teacher status. Jennie enjoyed developing individualized programs for students on the Autism Spectrum and with ADHD/learning disabilities and went back to the University of Washington to pursue a Behavior Analyst credential in fall of 2019. To gain further experience in the Behavior Analyst field, Jennie worked as a Behavior Technician in client homes and clinic settings. Jennie completed the Applied Behavior Analysis program at the UW and passed the BCBA exam in September 2021. She joined the STEPS team as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in June 2022. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, reading and doing yoga.
