Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a certification that requires a graduate degree, advanced education and training, supervised practical experience in behavior analysis and a passing score on the BCBA exam.
Our BCBAs all have varied backgrounds and extensive experience in early childhood allowing them to support the unique needs of our clients and families. BCBAs lead client teams and are responsible for intake, assessment, development of programming, goals, behavior supports, supervision, training, parent coaching and more!
Certified Behavior Technicians (CBT) have completed a 40-hour training, assessment of skills and approval by the State of Washington to practice ABA under the close supervision of BCBAs. Some of our staff have additionally taken an exam to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
At STEPS, our BT's are all enrolled in or have completed undergraduate degrees in related fields. Some of our BT's are currently pursuing graduate degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis or other related fields, and may have their graduate practicum placement with STEPS. Our BT’s provide direct services to our clients in the home, clinic, school and community settings.
